The Natal multimammate mouse is a species of rodent in the family Muridae. It is also known as the Natal multimammate rat, the common African rat, or the African soft-furred mouse.
Our soft furs are handled from birth and raised by mouse or rat wet nurses to improve on temperament making them easy to handle. They are often used as food for picky African based snakes. They are not bred for temperament and can deliver a very painful bite causing them to have a bad rap. This is why we work with ours to improve personality and lessen chance of being bitten. We also bred for different phases (color and markings) 
They can live with fancy mice when properly introduced and have the same care requirements.
